Envirotest Systems Corp., a subsidiary of Environmental Systems Products, Inc. (ESP), operates the Air Care Colorado emissions testing centers under contract to the State of Colorado. Envirotest Systems is a member of the Colorado Better Business Bureau.

Headquartered in East Granby, Connecticut, ESP operates centralized vehicle inspection programs in eleven states and one Canadian province comprising 175 facilities and 689 testing lanes. ESP performs more than 13 million inspections each year and employs more than 3,000 people. These programs are in Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. Internationally, the company has programs in Taiwan, Egypt, and Argentina. ESP's experience in supporting decentralized vehicle emissions programs (also called test-and-repair or garage programs) extends over 15 years, including providing referee and quality assurance services in both Alaska and California.

ESP performs a wide variety of emissions testing procedures ranging from simple idle-mode tests to enhanced procedures such as the acceleration simulation mode (ASM) and I/M 240 transient tests. ESP’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Remote Sensing Technologies, Inc. (RSTi), provides remote sensing equipment and monitoring services throughout the United States and abroad.
